Black Elderberry (Sambucus nigra)

Black Elderberry is a nonnative, multi-stemmed shrub with aromatic late spring flowers and edible fruits.  Compound pinnate leaves are dark green and around 10″ long that contains 3-7 serrate ovate to elliptic leaflets.  Tiny white flowers in large flattened cymes bloom in June to July.  The fruits are attractive to birds and wildlife.
