Black Willow (Salix nigra)

Black Willow is excellent to use for erosion control and prefers consistently moist to wet soils. Does well in floodplains, river banks, swamps, marshes, sloughs, and ponds. Flowers appear in early spring and reddish-brown fruits follow in the fall. Beneficial to bees and wildlife. Full sun to part shade.
