Bur x Live Oak (Quercus macrocarpa x turbinella)

Bur x live Oak is a tough tree that can withstand the intense conditions of Nebraska.  It can tolerate extreme heat and drought and grow in difficult soils. It is a cross between Quercus macrocarpa and Quercus turbinella. Quercus turbinella (Sonoran scrub oak) is a southwestern U.S. native species of oak that grows in the semiarid, shrub deserts, oak woodlands, and riparian communities of the southwest. Our seed source comes from a healthy specimen from Sydney, NE.
