It is a cross between Quercus macrocarpa and Quercus turbinella. Quercus turbinella (Sonoran scrub oak) is a southwestern U.S. native species of oak that grows in the semiarid, shrub deserts, oak woodlands, and riparian communities of the southwest. Our seed source comes from a healthy specimen from Sydney, NE.
