Common Witchhazel (Hamamelis virginiana)

American Witchhazel is a tall shrub or small tree with upright branches.  Fragrant, bright yellow flowers appear from October to December after leaf drop or occurs during fall color.  Tolerates deer, erosion, and clay soils.  Attracts hummingbirds.
