Leadplant (Amorpha canescens)

Leadplant is a deer resistant woody shrub with fragrant, lavender flower spikes.  It is great for erosion control, windbreaks, and screens.  This shrub is a legume which harbors beneficial bacteria on their roots that helps the soil.  Naturalized throughout the Midwest.
