Western Sand Cherry (Prunus besseyi)

White, single flowers in May produce great quantities of 3/4″ purple-black sweet fruits from July to mid August, used for preserves. Prefers well-drained sies but will tolerate hot, dry soil. Xeriscape plant. Very hardy. Attracts birds and butterflies.
