Allegheny Serviceberry (Amelanchier laevis)
$40.00
Allegheny Serviceberry is an understory, multi-stemmed tree. White flowers emerge in early spring, just before the small, oval leaves appear. The edible purplish-black berries ripen by mid summer and are great for eating and a favorite of many birds! Fall color is an outstanding orange-red. This plant prefers moist, well-drained soils but tolerates alkaline and clay soils. They are naturally found in an understory location.
