Autumn Blaze® Maple (Acer x freemanii ‘Jeffersred’)

Autumn Blaze® Maple (Acer x freemanii ‘Jeffersred’), also known as Freeman Maple, is a hybrid between Acer rubrum (Red maple) and A. saccharinum (Silver maple). The cross between these two species results in a specimen with quick growth and adaptability (from Silver maple), and the strong central leader, form and stunning fall color (from Red maple). The orange-red to scarlet color persists longer than many other cultivars.

This hybrid is considered more cold tolerant, and has shown more resistance to leafhopper injury, than other red maples.
