Little Walnut (Juglans microcarpa)

Little Walnut or Texas Walnut is a small, deciduous tree or shrub, usually only 20 ft. in height. Its smooth or lightly furrowed branches form a broad, rounded crown. Pinnate foliage is long, narrow and yellow-green. The nuts of this species are the smallest of genus and are edible. This species is very heat tolerant and can withstand drought conditions. Great wildlife plants that attracts many different birds and small mammals.
