‘Siouxland’ Cottonwood (Populus deltoides ‘Siouxland’)
This is a rust resistant, male form of our native cottonwood, first introduced by South Dakota State University. NO cotton or seed with this cultivar. Pyramidal in outline, with an irregular vase shape at maturity.
It is a large, fast-growing, deciduous tree. Easily grown in average, medium to wet, well-drained soils in full sun. Prefers consistently moist soils, but tolerates drought. Typically grows along streams and rivers.
