$40.00
Excellent in both wet and upland soils. Acorns borne on 2-4″ stalks. It shows good transplant success. Nice large shade or ornamental tree for parks, lawns and naturalized areas. Leaves are dark green on top and light green and fuzzy underneath and turn yellow and sometimes red-purple. Swamp White Oak keeps its leaves well into late winter. Tolerant of many conditions, this tree can grow in dry to poorly drained and wet soils and also compacted soils making it a great urban tree. Birds and mammals use this tree for cover and wildlife eat the sweet acorns.*1999 GreatPlantsWinner
