Viking Black Chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa ‘Viking’)
$40.00
Viking Black Chokeberry is an upright, multi-stemmed shrub that can withstand many soil conditions, including boggy soils. They grow great along ponds or streams and are great to use for rain gardens, as a screen or to naturalize an area. White clusters of flowers appear in May and attract many pollinators such as butterlies and bees. The flowers then develop into purplish black berries that are edible and high in nutrients and antioxidants. They can be used to make juice, pies, and jellies. The berries are also food for birds and other wildlife. Viking Black Chokeberry has a beautiful red fall color and is great to use in landscape beds around homes and businesses.
